Hot Chocolate Fudge Sauce
Put 200g chopped dark chocolate (we use milk chocolate!), 125ml single cream, 2 tbsp honey and 50g butter in a saucepan (although I do this in a bowl suspended over a pan of gently simmering water ... lets just call it bitter experience!) over a low heat and stir for 4-5 mins or until the mixture is melted and smooth. Pour hot chocolate fudge sauce over ice cream and cakes.
Makes 1 1/2 cups
Donna Hay - Simple Essentials Chocolate
We have this once in a blue moon as a special treat or pick me up. The original recipe says to use it straight away but for just the two of us that is just not possible ... although there have been times we've given it a pretty good try! The hot sauce, fresh from the bowl and drizzled over freshly scooped ice cream is one of life's true pleasures! The ice cream melts from the heat of the sauce and then as the two learn to live harmoniously, the fudge sauce thickens from the coolness of the ice cream and becomes all thick and fudgy and oozy .... sigh!
PS - please excuse the photos - I was more intent on gluttony than I was in taking pretty pictures! Priorities, I know ;0)
