This is a cake order for one of the girls at work. Its her grandson's 4th birthday tomorrow and he is a bit of a Star Wars fanatic by all accounts. When she told me this I was expecting a request for a Yoda cake, or maybe Luke or Hans ... personally the Ewoks have always been my favorites, but his favorite character is Darth Vader! What is happening to 4 year olds these days?
So here he is, Darth that is, not the 4 year old, in cake form. He is made with a white chocolate cake and filled with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. He is finished with black fondant which I've then painted a food glaze over to try and give it the same kind of shine as the real thing. Photo's aren't great, I blame the snow!
