Stained Glass Window Cookies - Take Two

This time last year I had a go at making Stained Glass Window Cookies for the first time.  I don't remember them as being particularly successful to look at but they certainly got scoffed by Hubby and Uncle Frank in no time flat!  This year I decided to try to making them with a different cookie recipe, that old faithful of mine the Vanilla Sugar Cookie.  I think these held their shape much better than my first attempt and Hubby and Uncle Frank are again happy as pigs in muck knowing that their morning and afternoon tea will now be supplemented with cookies again!

These little guys were made using cookie cutters I picked up on a trip to Lakeland, which sadly I can't seem to locate on their website.  They consist of the bauble and snowflake cutters and then a mini star, diamond and a triangle shaped cutters to create the decorations on the baubles which I then filled with crushed boiled sweets before baking.  Once the cookies were cooked the boiled sweets had melted to create the stained glassed window effect, next year I must remember to be a tad neater with the crushed boiled sweets, any overflow marks the finished cookie.  Still, they are edible and pretty ;0)
