While making the Christmas Biscotti the other day I somewhat over estimated how much tempered chocolate I was going need. Well you can never have too much of a good thing, right?
Rather than let it go to waste ... who am I kidding, Hubby and I would have eaten molten spoonfuls of it till it was all gone ... I decided to have a go at making my own Peppermint Hot Chocolate on a Stick. I ground up some more candy canes and sprinkled them into the bottom of a star shaped ice cube tray (I got mine from Ikea many moons ago!) and then spooned the tempered chocolate over the top. When the chocolate was nearly set I popped in an ice cream stick and then let them set completely.
To make Hot Chocolate, simply heat milk in a saucepan and pop one of the sticks into a mug. When the milk is hot pour it into the mug and swirl the stick around until the chocolate and peppermint has melted. Easy peasy and if you could cope with parting from them, they would make a nice gift for a chocoholic this Christmas.
