On Friday afternoon my Sis in Law and I spent the afternoon enjoying the sun at this year's Taste of Edinburgh. As always it was a great afternoon filled with celebrity chefs, stunning food and this year it was made all the better by being a warm and toasty day. I thought I would share my highlights from this year's adventure (please excuse the photo's of half nibbled food ... temptation was too hard to resist before I realised I hadn't yet taken a photo!)

A starter of Thai Fishcakes from First Coast. These were amazingly tasty, really zingy and fresh.

|
My main course of Lobster Thermidor Creme Brulee came from the always wonderful Wedgwood the Restaurant which is one of my all time fave places to eat out! |
And you know what comes after the starter and main course ...
|
My first dessert if Honeycomb Pannacotta with Warm Fudge Sauce was heaven on a plate! Silky and creamy, it just melted in the mouth and came from the Plumed Horse. |
|
Another half tucked into dessert. This pretty creation comes from Restaurant Mark Greenway and has to be the loveliest Modern Day Eton Mess with Mixed Scottish Berries and Ripple Ice Cream I have ever eaten!
This is White Chocolate and Raspberry Ripple Cheesecake from Tigerlily. Raspberry flavoured paradise! |
Added to the wonderful food was the question and answer session with Rachel Allen;
and a fantastic food demo by Paul Wedgwood (of the Lobster Thermidore fame!) where he made his version of surf and turf with rabbit and scallops and a not so appetising looking fungi called 'Chicken Of The Woods' (see the bottom pic!)
